Sweets photography – macarons, gingerbread and decorated cakes
I photograph sweets with attention to colour, shape and small decorations. In this gallery, colourful macarons sit alongside iced gingerbread, meringues and a decorated cake. Close-ups show the texture of biscuits, layers of cream and icing sugar, while wider frames reveal complete compositions.
The album combines studio photographs on a white background with views of macarons in a display window. In the first images, the bright surroundings emphasise the outlines of baked goods and details of icing. In the others, repeating rows of biscuits and bands of yellow, green, pink and blue form the subject. These are two different ways of showing sweets: as an individual product and as a colourful arrangement of many elements.
I photographed star- and Christmas-tree-shaped gingerbread on a still-life photography table. The other photographs include a cake with figurines and meringues in a decorative goblet. I took the photographs with Canon EOS 6D and Canon EOS R6 Mark II cameras; you can find the settings for individual frames under the “More Info” button.
