Paragliders on Monte Baldo – photographs of flights over Lake Garda
In this album I show paragliders on Monte Baldo in Italy, with Lake Garda and mountain slopes in the background. Colourful wings appear above a grassy slope, rocky cliffs and the broad surface of the lake. The series includes shots near the launch site and flights in which the paraglider becomes a tiny point in a vast space.
When photographing, I sought a balance between the movement of the pilot and the landscape. Closer frames reveal the wing and harness; wider views show the height, distant ridges and clouds obscuring the mountains. The green, turquoise and orange of the paragliders stand out clearly against the subdued background.
I took the photographs with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II, changing the focal length according to the distance of the paraglider and the selected part of the panorama. The settings can be checked in the EXIF data alongside the photographs. This combines sports and landscape photography: an observation of flight and my record of the mountain surroundings of Lake Garda.

Paragliders over Skrzyczne – photographs of flights above Szczyrk
Paragliders over Skrzyczne bring together two themes in this gallery: sports photography and the landscape of the Silesian Beskids. Colourful wings stand out against the blue sky, while the valley below, with fields and buildings, conveys the space surrounding the pilots. This is my view of paragliding around Szczyrk, photographed from the ground.
The photographs show both individual paragliders and several wings scattered across the sky. Bright green and yellow canopies create clear arcs accompanied by delicate streaks of cloud. In a wider frame, a paraglider appears between spruce trees above an extensive landscape. The contrast between the pilot’s small silhouette and the mountains and valley is as important to me as the colour of the wing itself.
I took the photographs with a Canon EOS 6D, using focal lengths of 70 and 200 mm. Fast shutter speeds, from 1/500 to 1/800 second, froze the movement of the paragliders. Close-ups emphasise canopy shapes and human silhouettes, while wider views leave more room for the landscape and sky. You can find the settings for individual photographs under the “More Info” button.
