Prague – photographs of the Old Town, Charles Bridge and Prague Castle
In this album I show Prague during walks through its historic streets and along the Vltava. The photographs include Old Town Square with its astronomical clock, Charles Bridge, the Powder Tower and Prague Castle with St Vitus Cathedral. I also venture beyond the Old Town, photographing Wenceslas Square, the National Museum building and the interiors of the historic railway station.
I am interested both in the city panorama and in details seen up close. I juxtapose red roofs and Gothic towers with mosaics, decorated façades and vaulted ceilings. Passers-by, trams and small cafés remain in the frames because, alongside architecture, I want to show the everyday movement of the city. Evening photographs introduce a different mood through illuminations and reflections of lights in the water.
The series combines photographs taken with a Canon EOS 6D and an iPhone 11 Pro; the settings for individual shots can be checked in their EXIF data. This is my photographic account of Prague, from recognisable monuments to fragments of streets and interiors that caught my attention along the way.
