Urban and architectural photography
Gdańsk in winter – photographs of the Motława, historic sights and seaside walks
For me, Gdańsk in winter is above all about walks with a camera among historic townhouses and along the Motława. In this album, I show snowy quays, the historic Crane, granaries and moored ships reflected in calm water. Blue skies and windless weather reveal the colours of façades and their mirror images.
In subsequent photographs, I visit Mariacka Street and look closely at decorative terraces, the Green Gate, the town hall tower and the sculpture of Neptune. I combine wide city views with architectural details. Coastal frames complete the gallery: walkers beside the shore, seagulls above the water and a pier illuminated at night.
Gdańsk remains one of my favourite places to relax, including outside the summer season. These photographs show different faces of winter: from snow and sunshine to cloudy days without a white covering. I took the photographs with a Canon EOS 6D; you can check the settings for individual frames under the “More Info” button.
