Brela in Croatia – photographs of the Adriatic, Kamen Brela and Biokovo mountains
In my photographs, Brela in Croatia is a meeting of the turquoise Adriatic, pale rocks and coastal pines. The main subject of the album is Kamen Brela, a small rock with trees rising out of the sea. I show it in different lighting conditions, alongside views of stony beaches, the seaside promenade and the Biokovo massif towering above the coast.
While photographing, I returned to the contrast between stationary rocks and water. Long exposures allowed me to smooth the sea’s surface and emphasise the shapes of the shore. Other frames show clear water in daylight, pine branches above the bay and mountains coloured by sunset.
The gallery includes photographs taken with Canon EOS R6 Mark II and Canon EOS 6D cameras. The recorded settings include 30-second exposures; the parameters of each shot can be checked alongside the image. The album is my view of Brela’s landscape, from small fragments of the coast to broad views of sea and mountains.
