Urban and landscape photography
Vienna – photographs of palaces, monuments and urban architecture
In this album I present Vienna through its architecture: Schönbrunn Palace, Belvedere, Karlskirche and the historic streets of the centre. The photographs combine views of entire buildings with fragments of façades and the spaces surrounding them. Reflections in water and repeated divisions of façades help reveal the order of Viennese compositions.
When photographing, I looked for axes, symmetry and directions leading the eye into the frame. A wide angle allowed me to show buildings together with their surroundings, while tighter shots isolated individual forms. Light was also important to me: bringing out the colour of a façade, emphasising a detail or changing the appearance of a reflection.
I took the photographs with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II. EXIF data with camera settings is available alongside individual photographs. The gallery is my photographic account of Vienna, focused on the palaces and urban landscape of the Austrian capital. If a photograph suits your publication or project, please get in touch.
