Brač Island – photographs of Zlatni Rat and Adriatic panoramas
I show the Croatian island of Brač from several perspectives: rocky hills, seaside promenades and the buildings of towns along the Adriatic. One of the gallery’s subjects is Zlatni Rat beach in Bol, seen from above as a pale spit surrounded by turquoise water. Broad panoramas reveal distant islands and the mountainous Dalmatian coast.
Alongside expansive views, I photographed red roofs, stone buildings and palm trees. I wanted to show the difference between the island’s rugged, rocky interior and its seaside towns. The blue sea unites this series, but each frame draws attention to a different element: the coastline, the arrangement of buildings or vegetation in the foreground.
I took the photographs with a Canon EOS R6 Mark II, using both wide-angle and longer focal lengths. You will find the settings for individual shots in the EXIF data alongside the photographs. The album is my account of a trip to Brač and a collection of landscape and urban subjects from the Croatian coast.
