Historic towns of Croatia – photographs of streets, squares and landmarks
Historic Croatian towns are stone streets, illuminated squares and historic buildings beside coastal promenades. In this gallery, I present my photographs of architecture and everyday life in Croatian old towns — from wide views to small façade details.
The photographs show church towers, columns, arcades and stone portals, as well as wells, stairs and narrow passages between houses. Green shutters, balcony flowers and washing hanging above courtyards reveal a more intimate side of these places. Rooftop panoramas, harbours with boats and ferries, and walks along the Adriatic complete the collection.
In these frames, I pay attention to the rhythm of windows and arches, the texture of stone and the contrast between shaded lanes and sunlit squares. Passers-by and café tables reveal historic spaces as part of a living town, rather than simply a collection of old buildings.
I took the photographs with a Canon EOS 6D. Wide views show the surroundings of buildings, while closer frames reveal decorations and sections of façades. I invite you to explore the gallery and discover the varied forms of Croatian architecture.
