Dubrovnik – photographs of the Old Town, walls and harbour on the Adriatic
In this gallery, I show Dubrovnik from street level and from the perspective of the city walls. The photographs combine the stone architecture of the Old Town with red rooftops and the blue Adriatic. The Old Harbour is an important subject: moored boats, calm water and massive fortifications surrounding the waterfront.
In views from above, I am interested in the rhythm of roof tiles, the street layout and squares filled with people. The bell tower, fountain and pale façades help orient the viewer within the dense buildings. Street-level frames offer a closer look at stone paving, shutters and architectural details. The presence of people gives these photographs scale and reminds us that the historic city remains a living space.
Beyond the buildings, I show walls standing on rocks, a fortress above a small bay and the open sea beneath illuminated clouds. I like the contrast between heavy stone structures, water and the broad sky. I took the photographs with a Canon EOS 6D, using focal lengths from 17 to 40 mm. Wide views allowed me to connect the foreground with the harbour, rooftop panorama or coastline. The album is my photographic view of Dubrovnik’s architecture and its relationship with the coastal landscape. You can find the camera settings under the “More Info” button.
