Garden photography – greenery, ornamental grasses and light
In this album, I show gardens in spring greenery and autumn colours. The photographs feature arrangements of trees and shrubs, lawns and beds of ornamental grasses. Wide views reveal the planting layout and the relationships between different parts of the garden, while closer shots draw attention to the texture of leaves and the delicate flower heads of grasses.
When photographing gardens, I look for connections between colour, form and natural light. I contrast broad green spaces with dense planting, and the soft lines of plants with the orderly arrangement of beds. The spring and autumn photographs show how the season changes the appearance and character of a garden.
These photographs can complement garden designers’ portfolios, plant nursery materials and publications about garden design.
